Where do I board/disembark the tram?
The official place to get on and off the Hoftrammm Restaurant is at Voorburg Station, 'Stationsplein 3'. At that location, it is safe to board and disembark the Tram Restaurant without the hindrance of traffic. At least 15 minutes before departure, a host/hostess will be present to show you to your table.
What to do should I arrive earlier (than the started departure time)?
The tram will be ready and waiting 15 minutes before departure time at the boarding place. You are welcome to board the Hoftrammm 15 minutes prior to departure. You will then be welcomed with an aperitif.
Should you arrive well in advance of departure before embarking Hoftrammm (or after your dinner) a variety of bars and restaurants may be found in the immediate vicinity, where you may wait with a drink. (Note: these drinks are not included in our set price). Hoftrammm Tramrestaurant has no (business) connections with these bars and restaurants).
What is the route?
There are several routes suitable for Hoftrammm, but the Tram restaurant dinner route will be: Voorburg - The Hague Centre – Scheveningen (Zwarte Pad) – Hollands Spoor - Scheveningen Haven (Harbour) - City Centre - Voorburg.
Changes to the route may occur as a result of traffic disruption, etc.
How much does the package cost, and what does it include?
The all-inclusive package includes:
- A dinner lasting in excess of 2 hours and 30 minutes
- An aperitif and home-made bread
- An excellent 4-course dinner (created by Pierre Wind, a famous Dutch TV Chef)
- Unlimited wine menu and mineral water
(It is possible to let us know your dietary requests. For drinks other than wine we have The Hague beer or a non-alcoholic arrangement).
Note: given the limited space on board, there are no other beverages available.
The price for the fixed package deal is €105,- per person.

The Hoftrammm may also be hired exclusively. Alternative days/times (and different boarding facilities) are possible after consultation.
Time of the Hoftrammm’s journey?
The journey takes an average of 2 hours and 30 minutes.
Can my glass be knocked over during the journey?
No, your glass and other tableware remain on the table. The ride is comfortable and you can enjoy your dinner uninterrupted. However, you are on a moving tram so you will notice that the vehicle is in motion. This is what makes the Hoftrammm experience so unique!
Is there parking near the point of boarding?
There is ample parking near the boarding location. You can park at 'Zwartelaan'.
Are gift certificates available?
There are gift certificates for dinner. Please click on the Gift Card link on the Homepage.
What kind of menu do you offer?
There is a 4-course dinner (consisting of fish and meat dishes). Do you prefer a vegetarian or vegan meal? Please, indicate this when making your reservation. Please mention any food allergies when you make your booking. Click here for the current menu.
How many employees are on board?
The tram driver, the Chef, an Assistant Cook, a Maître d' and two or three waiters.
Is there a restroom on board?
Yes, there is a restroom on board.
How many guests can dine in the Hoftrammm?
There are 44 seats on board.
Can the seating arrangements (tables and chairs) be adjusted?
There is a fixed seating arrangement and it cannot be adjusted. Tram Restaurant Hoftrammm has 8 tables for four and 6 tables for two. To see the sizes of the tables, click here.
Booking of uneven numbers?
If you would like to make a reservation for an odd number of people (we request a small fee of €25,- per unused seat) please email us (info@hoftrammm.nl) so we can check the possibilities (which will depend on the number of reservations).
NB; Making a reservation for an odd number of guests is at the initiative of Hoftrammm. If you decide to reserve a table yourself (for example a 4-person table for 3 guests), we cannot refund money.
Exclusive hire?
More information about hiring the entire Hoftrammm can be found at this page. If you would like to hire tramrestaurant Hoftrammm exclusively, please send an email to info@hoftrammm.nl. We advise you to contact us at least 4-5 months in advance.
Is the tram suitable for people with reduced mobility?
Given the fixed table layout, the Hoftrammm is to a lesser extent suitable for people with reduced mobility. For additional information, please contact us at info@hoftrammm.nl
Are children allowed on board?
Unfortunately the Hoftrammm does not cater special meals for (small) children and has no seats or additional facilities for them. There is NO special children's menu, so an "adult's menu" must be ordered.
Are animals allowed on the tram?
Due to the limited space and hygiene on board animals are not allowed on our tram.
Is there airco and heating in the tram?
The Hoftrammm has heating via the brake system. The windows can be opened for extra ventilation.
Is there a cloakroom?
Of course, there is a (small) cloakroom. We recommend that you bring just what is strictly necessary, since the space on board is limited.
Reservations and payments?
Reservations are required and may be done quite simply through our website. There is no possibility to pay on board, because all payments are handled online.
